BT fault reporting

  • Hello, as I understand it the bt master socket with the detachable bottom face plate into which you plug your phone simply isolates internal wiring from the incoming bt line. Quite often incorrectly wired/faulty extensions throw the line. Damp is often a cause of fault. The theory is that when plugging into the test socket then you should be able to determine whether the fault is inside or outside your home thus avoiding a hefty call out charge.

People make far too much of phone lines. At the end of the day it is usually only two wires (normally orange and white) that do anything.
