    It's very easy to let your heart rule your head but I can assure you that if you proceed without more facts (not just the toss from an EA who just wants it gone) then you are asking for a whole heap of trouble. They may have more viewings but everyone else will be nervous too when they see the damage and if they have mortgages then they may not even be able to proceed anyway. Tell the EA to bog off, the vendors to wind their necks in and get a proper structural survey before you do anything. Remember, this is a poisoned chalice for the vendor and EA right now. EA lie, it's in their blood!

    Well, that would be my advice for what it's worth.
  • The bitumen is there for a genuine reason. It is what was used to stick down Marley tiles in older properties.

    Not all EA's lie redlady.

    But please walk away. This will take up your life and money and is this house special enough?
