My internet provider, Be There, has told me they cannot provide my internet if I switch to Primus for my phone line and I seem to remember that a BT line was one of their requirements when I first went with them.
So, I contacted BT and told them I was thinking of switching to Primus and could BT match the Primus offer, it took about 5 minutes for them to come back (it was an 0800 number!) and I now have a BT line slightly cheaper than Primus.

Well done. £2/month or £3/month (paid up front as a £24 or £36 lump sum) is a standard BT incentive to agree to a 12 month lock in now.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
