Abbey (overdrawn by 5p accidently) - Paypal

Hello all, hope this is in the right place.
I have heard about overdraft charges on bank accounts but thankfully been careful and never gone below 0p.
I have an account with Abbey/Santander that I rarely use and just linked it to Paypal. I forgot Paypal take out a pound and give you a code to make sure the account belongs to the person who tries opening it. They take a pound and two other small amounts with 4 digits which you have to confirm to them before they make your card available.
I checked Santander online and my account reads-
Balance: £1.96
Available: -£0.5p
Will I be charged for going overdrawn? Paypal pay the money back into the account within a few days but at present I'm overdrawn. I tried calling Abbey but don't have telephone banking with them so they won't tell me.
i really don't need to get charged £30/40 whatever it is for this. I know I should have been more careful but I completely forgot about the 'charge' Paypal give you.
im sure someone can help but I fear the worst here!
Thanks

Probably. As you know you are in debt, you should try to take action asap to resolve that situation.
Keep an eye on your statements and as soon as you see you are incurring a charge, have a word with Abbey. Due to the small amount involved, your rapid action to resolve your unauthorised borrowing, and your previously good standing, the bank will usually waiver the charge on request as a goodwill gesture."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Thanks. It's my fault for not checking I know, but I didn't see anything on the Paypal site about taking money from the account untill I gave details.
I've phoned Abbey and spoke to three different people who all told me different stories. I have got to get to a bank and put 5p in by 12 today or I will get charged. This is impossible from where I work, so looks like i'll get charged.
I even phoned Paypal to ask to stop the 'payment' but they are hard to talk to! Why have they taken money anyway, I thought they usually DEPOSIT a small amount to verify your card? Really annoying0 -
Anyone know my chances of not having to pay the charge if I get one?
First time this has ever happened and it's 5 pence!0 -

If it is the first occasion and you pay into the account as soon as you possibly can they might refund as a gesture of goodwill based on your good record with them already.0
