Ebay - Airport Lounge invitations for sale???

It is possible to purchase invitations for the Quantas Lounge from a seller on ebay. This would inject some luxury into the start of our honeymoon (we are flying cattle class to the Maldives with My Travel - )
Does anyone have any experiences of buying these? It says you can use them no matter which airline you are travelling with. Do you think this would be ok to use???
Thanks

I don't know about e-bay.. but you can get acess to the lounge via other routes.. a quick goolge will find companies selling holiday extras such as acesss.. I thing its about £30 per person per end.. they tend to give acess to a "generic" lounge.. not the main BA/Quantus type.. still better than not.. IMHO..
The alternative option is the American Express Plantinum Charge card

Its expensive, but if you travel a lot.. and want to take advantages of the lounges at many airports.. its worth it.. IMHO.. for a a holiday with the family.. and my business trips.. (alway via cattle).. it works out cheaper than paying for the lounges per use.. for me..The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary…

or simply let the person know you are on your honeymoon and ask if you could get upgraded..... never know...Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

This will probably work as long as you are nice (take a copy of the wedding cert just in case).

I used to work for a handling agent at an airport and personally I would go the 'proper' route to get access to an executive lounge - if you called the handling agent or airline up directly and explained that it was your honeymoon and would it be possible to pay extra etc to go into the lounge - its not that expensive and they may even be extra generous and give it you for free!0

Which airports will you be using?
There is only one lounge at Male (Maldives), which can be booked through most of the airport lounge websites (have a search on the forum for posts, particularly the Egg Card deal if you have one). It is a really nice lounge, big leather sofas with free internet access and a decent selection of food and drink (but no alcohol - though you can get alcohol in your resort and in duty free, this is a Muslim country).
The airport at Male is small (it has to be to fit on the island!) and can get very crowded and hot and sweaty, so I would definitely recommend the lounge ... even if just to guarantee a comfortable seat and nice bathroom!
The Maldives is absolutely heavenly ... Have a fantastic trip! xGone ... or have I?0 -
Hi
Try Priority Pass
http://www.prioritypass.co.uk/Join/What-It-Costs.cfm
Otherwise, write to everywhere, my Father-in-Law writes to airlines, hotels, cruise companies etc when they go away for a special occassion and the time taken to write letters always pays off - they do have the time to do all this because they are retired however.0 -
Priority Pass would work out very expensive - £69 just to join + £15 per person per lounge.
If you go through https://www.loungepass.com, it is £17 per person for Male airport.
Also, if you are an Egg Card holder, you can get 50% off the cost ... there is a post all about it, but if you want a quick explanation just ask!Gone ... or have I?0 -

The Maldives are indeed heavenly. I remember coming into land at Male and thought we were going to land in the sea, and the fact we had screens showing us pictures from under the plane didn't help, lol.
I agree with everyone else though, go the 'proper' routes for upgrades rather than eBay.
Have a nice honeymoon!!!0
