Plants to grow and sell at work?

Hi
Hoping to pick your collective green brains!
Myself and a friend are having a cake sale at work to raise some funds for our Brownie pack. I was thinking that we could also sell some plants- we work in central london and there's nowhere around that sells plants to brighten up our offices, and since virtually everyone comes in by tube/train, bringing them in from home isn't very practical either. Of course these facts also mean it's tricky to grow plants from seed also, but there's a Dyas nearby and I'm willing to give it a try to raise some cash! So do you have any ideas of what I could grow; I guess from seed but poss from cuttings too. They should fulfil these criteria:
-be easy to care for / will cope with office life OR could be a bit more tricky but make up for it by being very pretty!
-won't need potting on too often, I don't wanna see all the plants in the bin in 6m time when they've outgrown their pot!
-will germinate / grow decently on a sunny windowsill in my office by June when the sale will prob be
-won't cost me too much to get started off
-ideally could be sown straight in a 4" pot so I don't have to deal with toomuch transplanting in the office! The cleaners would kill me!
So far the only thing I have thought of is to plant up the babies from my spider plant... I thought herbs might work ok, people might want some basil to add to their salad in the summer! But I'm only a newbie to this greenfingered stuff! Is there anything else that would fit the bill? Thanks!

Spider plants are a great idea, they are supposed to be really good for the office, and we have lots at work.0

What about something like chilli plants? We used to grow them in our office and they did really well. Cheap to start too but you will need a warm window sill to get them started.
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

that's a great idea - I had discounted that kind of thing, but with chillis at least you can take them home to cook with easily!0
