My OH is rubbish with money. I have tried over the years to wean him off his CC's but unfortunately he has to do it for himself.
We are about to embark on buying a flat which we can afford, even with his CC debts, however I found out today that he has been making late payments almost on a monthly basis for the last year. He does make the payment eventually (it's not that he can't afford it!)
How much will this affect our mortgage application? I am really worried now that he has scuppered our chance to get on the property ladder!

Hi Spot,
Unfortunately this may affect your ability to get a mortgage.
You need to get hold of both of your credit reports, see here...http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1101485056,23650,
It might also be useful for you to head over to the debt free wannabe board for some more information.0
