unable to Download from Outlook express

This happens frequently on NTL (don't have experience of other ISPs) when the ISP has a problem with its email system.

Give them a chance to fix it and try again later.

is there a webmail facility with tiscali,if there is try and check if you cant get your mail on the web you know its the ISP

Tiscali was doing this on and off yesterday for me. I was also having problems logging onto the webmail.

Is the email address you're downloading end in your isp's domain, like xxxx@tiscali.net?

I use OE quite often, when I down load folders and enter the pw I check the right hand box that says remember pw.

no we are stil xxxx\'lineone.net which was taken over by tiscali, been ok upto now but these last 2 days, can collect mail from tiscali site but not o.e.

What error are you getting? Have you checked the account settings in OE?

Does the Tiscali site have a Service Status check facility to see if they're reporting any problems with email downloading?

If you haven't changed or installed anything to trigger this fault, I would still suspect Tiscali's service. NTL have these problems that can go on for several days.
