Someone Cancelled My Experian Membership...

in Credit cards
I got an email at 9.09 this morning saying:
I've just called them and they said that they would log it as a fraudulent call and freeze that account.. I was just wondering, if it's not a mistake, why would someone do this?
Do you think someone is planning to apply for things in my name and wants to make sure I can't see what they are doing?
Would cancelling all my cards be a prudent action?
Oh dear
Now, I didn't do this.Your membership has now been cancelled. We’re sorry to see you go, but don’t forget you can log back in to CreditExpert any time in the future, to protect your identity and monitor your credit health.

They said it was done over the phone so they wouldn't need my password. Just name, DOB and address.
They said they will 'investigate' and get back to me within 2 weeks... they better listen to the call!!Kavanne

Membership? Sounds like a green bowling association.
You'll save money and it'll help stop the flow of your private info's sale in the public domain to the highest bidder.
Seems liek a win-win situation to me.0 -

Yet another useless post
We get it, you don't like credit reference agencies and hold in contempt anyone who uses or subscribes to them.
How many more of these scathing ramblings will the forum have to endure?

As you can see it's been nearly a month and I have chased up experian weekly, they kept telling me they were looking into it but now I am done lying down.
Who can I escalate this to if I don't get any acknowledgement/response from Credit Expert? I haven't even had a letter saying they're looking into it.Kavanne

Just been on the phone to them for half an hour.
Apparently no one i spoke to previously has been right. She said my account was cancelled because my card declined, but I had phoned the previous week to change my card and that had been successful.
She then said she didn't know why the person before had cancelled my membership but that she would have to email him to find out and then call me back. I wait with baited breath....
However, this still doesn't solve the issue of someone phoning up pretending to be me!! The call can't be that long...Kavanne

Maybe they are getting confused.
I called to cancel mine, it never happened. A month later I was charged so I phoned to cancel to be told I had already cancelled. I called a third time after a subsequent charge and told them I cancelled two months prior and they told me I was now cancelled and would get my two months refunded which fair play did happen.
Makes you wonder who was cancelled when I wanted it to be me. Maybe it was you! Lol.0 -
Hoping I am posting this in the correct place!!
Credit Expert Experian recieved an email from me on 12 June 2009 requesting canceling my account had an email back saying "sorry your thinking of leaving" on the the same day since then they have taken out 11 unathourised payments from my debit card
They can see I have not used the service and are refusing to give me a refund as I did not call them to cancel!!!!
Is this rubbish or what?
anyone got any Ideas
cheers

Send a printout of your email and their reply to your credit card issuer, stating that you cancelled your subscription to Experian but they continued to charge your credit card without authorisation.anyone got any Ideas
If you can find the Experian T&C which prove you are entitled to cancel at any time and that you were not locked into a 12-month contract or anything like that, send a printout of those too.
The key is to demonstrate to your card issuer that Experian took payments from your credit card without authorisation after you had given notice to cancel.0
