shared ownership

I have seen there is a lot of negative opinions here about SO.....but also some positive

am considering buying a SO apartment locally....they cost the same as other near identical properties close by.

aiming at putting down the 30% in cash, no mortgage and 'renting' the other 70% with the view of buying the unsold bits within 5 years.

this place can be sold on the open market when I choose, the area is fine and the service charge is reasonable.

does anyone have any personal experience of Circle Anglia [ think they also trade under the Circle Group name].........want to hear the bad as well as the good [ if any!]

also, as it is a new build block under the NHBC, should I still get a full structural survey done?

    Hi there,

I own a shared ownership property with circle anglia and i can honestly say i have had very few problems with them over the last three years. The only downside is if you ever decide to sell the property you have to pay their solicitors fees as well I am currently in the process of sellng my property and in all honesty the only thing i would say is wheather the property is new or old make sure you check to make sure everything is working properly you generally have 1 year from the day you buy your property to rectify any problems you find with the company make sure you check everything from the signal on the tv aerial to making sure the boiler has been checked. I had several issues when i bought my property but within 6 months all the problems i found were rectified.
Overal a pleasent experience without problems which is just how i like it
