If you are going to Portsmouth be sure to have a ride up the Spinnaker Tower, situated at Gunwharf Quays. Great if the weather is sunny.. You might even see me sailing by. I agree that Fort Nelson is interesting, as is the Submarine Museum, situated just across the harbour from the Spinnaker Tower. Or you could have a 65 mph ride round the Solent on a RIB. Now that's pretty exciting!I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
What about Monkey World in Dorset. It's probably under an hour from Ringwood and is one of the cleanest parks I've had the pleasure to go to. At the end of the Monkey parts of the zoo there is a huge play area for the kids to run wild.
And with the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth, you can get in with Mr T vouchers, is partly indoors and if you don't finish it all in one day, you have a year to go back. The man without a signature.0 -
There is a place called "Adventure Wonderland" just outside Bournemouth that is really nice for small children. Little rides, shows, indoor soft play, maze etc.
Thay take tesco rewards aswell.
I second Monkey World, one of the best places we have ever visited. Also has, without doubt, the best outdoor play area I have ever seen!0 -

I was going to suggest Adventure Wonderland as well, personally think it's better for the younger kids than Paultons but each to their own. Another vote for Moors Valley. For swimming, as you are already at Ringwood instead of Poole Splashdown in the opposite direction is Rmosey Rapids, not as many rides but they allow armbands on everything and it's only the price of a normal swimming pool rather than Splashdown prices. Christchurch ski centre on the ringos/ski bobs, also an outdoor play park with trampolines and zip line stec, their website often has discount vouchers aswell.
Crabbing on Mudeford Quay in Christchurch (if you don't like the Bournemouth/Poole roads at least you can turn off the Bournemouth Spur Rd before you get there for Christchurch).0 -
Thanks so much everyone for your replies. We are setting off this afternoon so will spend a few minutes googling these places before we go.
There's nothing like personal recommendations when you want to know what places are really like - thanks again x0 -

Moors Valley, Alice in Wonderland, Splashdown, Monkey World - the kids will love all of them. They are also in that order in relation to distance to Ringwood.
You also have Paultons Park which is just on way to Southampton - about 15 / 20 miles from Ringwood. Farmer Palmers in Wareham is also pretty good.0 -
