How to transfer Halifax HBOS/Lloyds Shares to another person

I have some HBOS Halifax shares that were issued to me a few years ago. They have now become Lloyds shares.
I would like to transfer them to another person.
I was never sent a share certificate, is there an easy way I can do this?
