HELP - I'm returning back to work after maternity leave

Hi,
I had my daughter on 05/10/2009 and am returning to work on 01/04/2010. At the moment me and my partner receive £22 per week for child tax credits and £20 per week child benefit. My partner works 40 hours per week and brings home around £250, I will be working 13.5 hours per week and bring home around £100 per week. Before I left I worked 32 hours per week and brought home around £200 per week. We was told that we didn't qualify for working tax credits.
Will we receive a tax credits renewal pack and will the tax credits we receive change as my income has changed?

PLEASE HELP

    use entitled to.

    http://www.entitledto.co.uk/Default.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

    or use
    http://taxcredits.hmrc.gov.uk/HomeNew.aspx

Better using entitled to as it takes mat leave etc into account - you dont count some of your smp in tc awards.

TBH your family situ is almost identical to my sisters, both work, combined income of around £18000 and they get around £70 per week in some form of tax credits. they dont have childcare or anything to pay for either.

entitled to is best, but is longer - but thats cause it asks for more info to give more accurate results. From memory you can put in what you have earned this year b ut if you jusy use what you will earn it will give a VERY rough indication for next year.

maybe a call to CAB in the morning too?

or even ring the tc office and ask them! They will give you the best advice and could give you figures there and then
if you need anymore help let us know

Our situation is fairly similar, however you need to work a minimum of 16hrs to qualify for tax credit, i work 16hrs,oh 40 hrs, our sons nearly three, we get family allowance and also £240 towards child care costs as well, before he went to nursey we got about £40 a month tax credits.

my oh earns abit more about £320 per week and me £95, like the other poster said call tax credit people, but you need to do 16hrs min to qualify for any help im afraid.

    hope that helps

Only for working tax credit. Both need to be working 16 hours to receive the child care element.

I have filled out both of the forms (entitled to and taxcredits hmrc) but they only ask what I worked and earned year endings 08 and 09 but i have earned and worked less year ending 10. I don't understand why they class being on maternity as working the hours that you worked before when you aren't working those hours or earning that amount. ITS SO CONFUSING. Think i'm going to have to call them but i get so confused
