Small bathroom - what should I expect to pay?

Hi guys - and as always thanks for any help. Well, the boiler's done and out of the bathroom, so now need to get quotes for sorting that. We've never had a major bathroom refit, so need some help with possible costs.

First up - it is very small, about 2 metres square, with a horrible built-in cupboard where the boiler used to be. It currently has a toilet, sink, bath (with a separate Aqualisa shower), a single window and a small radiator. We need:

1. Cupboard chopped out - and some minor plumbing to re-route pipes
2. Ceiling boarded over (Artex disaster!) and plastered
3. New floor (laminate?)
4. Re-tiling to ceiling around bath and to about 1.8 metres elsewhere
5. Replace rad with a heated towel rail
6. New bath/sink/toilet

The questions are ballpark guesstimates for:

1. Rough total cost (Surrey prices!) without the tiles/fittings
2. How many days are we likely to be without a shower?
3. Sensible budget for tiles and a decent bath/toilet/sink

Once again many thanks

Rick

2k - 5k. really depends on your bathroom suite quality?
you should not be without a shower for more than one day max. in most cases you should not be without any facility overnight.

    Hi

I would say between £2.5 to£ 3.5K for labour and all plumbing materials.
You should be able to get a decent quality bath ,basin, wc and towel rail for £500 to £700.
You will be without a shower for a few days but I always aim to have a bath back in the same day as stripping out or the existing one left in place .A wc is, obviously, essential and if you don't have a second loo then you would have a wc with no cistern (to allow making good /tiling) at the very least.
If you are near Chessington Versatile are very helpful for tiles. As are Burge and Gunson .They have a good showroom. (Colliers Wood though)
