Laptop wireless help - Please

Hi I'm looking to buy a new lap top (possibly a Sony), but want to be able to use it, use my old (Dell) laptop and use me family computer over the same internet connection.
Currently, I unplug my PC and connect the laptop to the cables instead, but want to avoid all that.
Should I change to a wireless modem in my PC before buying my new laptop?
I also want to stay with Demon as my ISP.
Any ideas please?

Get a wireless adsl router, you can then either plug them all in, or have them all wireless, or any combination
