Is there anything illegal about warning people on Facebook or Twitter or any of the other social networking sites? I don't belong to these sites myself and I wouldn't pay for a bag simply because it has a 'brand' name, but there are obviously thousands who do and I should think making it know what sites (and ebay sellers) are selling fakes would be performing a social service.

I have no idea of how many millions belong to FB and the like but it would be a great way to warn potential buyers of the possibility of being ripped off.
  • This site looked absolutely genuine. The site claimed to be a Mulberry Outlet and the site address was a .co.uk and looked convincing. A purse costing about £75 was ordered. There was no order confirmation. (Stupid of us because it is always worth waiting 5 minutes to allow a confirmation to come through, if it does not print the web order page in front of you). The purse arrived but over £107 was deducted from our credit card. It was fake and from China.

That website has disappeared and we easily found them again at
another address by searching for Mulberry Bags.

Could this scam be publicised on Martin's Money Tips please to prevent others being cheated?

We have asked our credit card company to investigate.
