Courgette up and running.

Part of the Furniture 100 Posts Photogenic Combo Breaker
Sowed a courgette seed two weeks ago and its thriving already. Its on my windowsill. Will have to transplant it soon into a bigger pot.

    I havent planted mine yet, got some free with the Grow Your Own magazine, I have a bit of a lack of room at the moment due to seed overexcitement but am hoping to have got the first seeds in the plot in the next few weeks and then will plant courgettes.:j

    My courgettes went crazy, they are about 4 inches tall, really stong plants, and i only planted them 5 weeks ago!
    When is good to plant them out?

    Gosh - you folks are well ahead of me. You won't be able to plant your courgettes outdoors until early June unless they covered by cloches (they hate the cold) so start thinking now about putting them into bigger pots indoors. If you buy those large 5 litre mineral water bottles and cut the bottoms off they make good protective covers if you're really forced to plant them out before then, but put a stick though the open top to keep it firmly achored on windy days.

    Took a trip down to the green house today.....
    My beans, peas and marrow are just starting to pop their little heads up.....

    Slugs have already started munching on my brussel sprouts though......
    That sounds bad dunnit......:o
