Sorry, that was a bit confusing to read...

No, you can't see how many watchers there are.

    1. No
    2. If the amount you put in as a snipe is more than anyone else is prepared to bid, you can't lose.
    3. I'm not sure if the sniper will bid against you. Probably not... but I wouldn't bid as well as snipe. Bid late, bid your max!
    4. It's up to the buyer to be sure they're getting a decent deal on a 2nd hand car. Unless the seller is a business, you don't have a lot of comeback if you have a problem after buying. If the seller accepted paypal as payment, the buyer could in theory file a 'significantly not as described' dispute... but the seller would have to be stupid to accept paypal for a car.

This should be the number one commandment (for buyers) on ebay.

Perhaps joint no. 1 with 'buyer beware!'

yeah but i was reading snipe as im using free 10 snipes i read this

At JustSnipe, we allow paid members to adjust their own lead time (or buffer time). Members can make an adjustment to bidding time* in order to match their needs and sniping strategies. Many times when ebay sellers choose to end auction at the following minutes of the hour :00, :15, :30, :45. It creates the load to ebay servers that results in missing snipes (or bid arrives at ebay later after an auction is already closed). This feature can reduce missing snipe incidents.

and the auction ends at 9.00 so i didnt want use snipe and then find out it never worked

If you set your snipe to the max you are willing to pay, you can't go wrong.

    Either:
You get out-bid by someone else. Well, no problem, because you weren't willing to pay more anyway.
    or
You DON'T get out-bid, because you were willing to pay more than anyone else.

  • Good site to help on ebay is https://www.goofbay.co.uk

They used to have a tool that allowed you to see how many people were watching an item, think they stopped that.
  • goofbay used to let you see how many watchers there are, but I think they've taken that option down
My broad mind and narrow waist are slowly swapping places!!
