    I can't quite afford the R8. Maybe an RX-8! :p

Yeah, perhaps going S&S is the only solution for higher returns. Problem is that it's a one way transfer, and I can't transfer it back to cash in the future. *sigh*

I just feel like the gov and banks have got me right where they want me. Saved for years in the ISA and can't bear to take it out of the wrapper, while they pay crappy interest on it.

but you could invest in virtually risk free fund, which is almost as risk free as cash... ;-)
    Plan
    1) Get most competitive Lifetime Mortgage (Done)
    2) Make healthy savings, spend wisely (Doing)
    3) Ensure healthy pension fund - (Doing)
    4) Ensure house is nice, suitable, safe, and located - (Done)
    5) Keep everyone happy, healthy and entertained (Done, Doing, Going to do)
  • Ok, I've withdrawn most of my cash from the ISA (woohoo!). There's no turning back now.

Will blow it all on a car tomorrow at the dealers if they give me the right price for my car in part exchange.

If you've really done this, perhaps you should now change your profile name...
