Bought a Download on Ebay

I bought a Download Norton 360 link and Product Key for a 2 year subcription for use on up to 3 Pc's, I paid then got the download and product key and reinstalled it. There is nothing wrong with it, works fine etc, but the seller has become a 'No longer registered' member and I got a refund from paypal which I didn't request by the way ha ha, also got a ebay message warning me not to trade with him outside of ebay, which I didn't.

I'm guessing he was doing this against ebay rules, but is anything likely to come back to me regarding my 'now free Norton'?

You mean apart from the fact that there is a very good chance that you have a pirate copy?

Not likely, I think you've got the best end of the deal, on ebay when it comes to people who sell downloads rather than the actual product always raises the alert for me. But anyway your protected by paypal, thats why you got your money back, it's probably illegal product keys he's generating to use for Norton.

I dont have a disc though, just an emailed product key, got my own disc which I bought it from Currys last year, the product key expired last week. More likely a duplicated Product Key.

That still makes it a pirate version if you use the key from ebay. You don't have the right to use the key as the actions of Paypal seem to point to it being an illegal key, not duplicated.

Sounds like he was selling keys from download sites such as Piratebay etc.

Don't feel guilty that you got your money back.
