When should I be told what my redundance package will be?

I received my redundancy notice on the 26th February, all it said was that due to the economic climate they are very sorry but they are dissolving the business and the partners are going their separate ways which means I am being made redundant. It doesnt actually look like that is going to happen now but thats not my problem.
I have no idea how much I am going to receive and I wondered if I am within my rights to ask now what the final figure will be. I really need to start planning ahead. Also my holidays go from January to January, always have and I have been here just under 5 years. When I mentioned to one of the partners the other day that holiday pay should also be included he got all funny with me. I am allowed 20 days holiday a year plus bank holidays. I have taken 2 days so far this year so how do I calculate how many days I should have when I leave on the 26th May and should these be included in my redundany pay?
Also can you tell me how I calculate the redundancy pay to make sure I know they are right. I started 1st July 2005, finishing 26th May, full time.
Thanks for any help

What notice was in your contract this could make a difference if it was long say 3months if 4 weeks or 1 month then the following is probably what you should get.
So from what you have said so far I get the following.
Looks like they have included your notice in the redundancy so you will have 4 years service, if not then even with PILON 1month still gives you 4 years.
Thats 4 weeks redundancy pay capped at £380 unless you have an enhanced redundancy scheme.
Holidays should accrue, this will depend on the contract if the total is more than 28 days but as a minimum 28days(5.6weeks) prorata on the year
1 Jan-26 May is 20.8 weeks so 28*20.8/52 11.2 which needs to be rounded up(1/2 day I think it is on-line somewhere)
If getting paid PILON this changes to include the date you would have left if you had worked notice0 -

In my contract it states under Holidays: entitled to 20 days paid in addition to normal bank holidays. On termination of contract I shalll be entitled to accrued holiday pay in direct proportion to my length of service during the calender year in which the termination takes place. LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_

PILON is "pay in lieu of notice" - this is where instead of giving you the required notice, a company may instead just pay you the amount of salary you would have got during the notice period, but not actually require you to do the work.
In your case it sounds like they have given you notice so this is irrelevant.
From get4less's post earlier you'd be entitled to either 11 or 11.5 days holiday. Deduct how many you've taken and you should be paid the difference at your usual pay rate.Indecision is the key to flexibility0
