Tesco Clubcard with Thompson & Morgan

Sorry, I'm New so i apologise if this has already been posted.

Tesco Clubcard has teamed up with Thompson & morgan to offer some deals on their veg/plants.

I got £14.99 worth of potato tubers with planting bags (inc 15 tubers of three varieties) for £6 worth of clubcard vouchers

and 10 Irrestisable Strawberry plants for £4 worth of vouchers (worth £9.99)

i'm just starting out growing my own stuff and i thought this was a great way of getting started.

you do send off for vouchers to send to Thompson & Morgan but for £25 worth of stuff for £10 i though it was worth the hassle!

there were some other plants on offer but i thought i'd share a fab deal.

We have used T&M before and never had any problem with their mail order plants.

This sounds good, can you tell me if you have to pay P & P or is it included in the cost of the order?

I am not a fan of jam tomorrow cards - you paid to much for your potatoes ! The price you should be looking at is a lot less if you go to a garden centre , Where you can select tubers at 17p each also you will find a greater selection , They are selling from £3-20 a bag weighing 2 1/2 kilos or 3kilos , Also there are firms about that are on-line and do mail order, I order my seed potatoes at the beginning of November , For delivery depending on weather between late January and early March. The total paid for the order and carriage was £30-17p for five types which gave an all up weight of 15 kilos . Step and take a bow Edwin Tucker and Sons - seed merchants and Maltsers, P.S. carriage was £5-10 up to 30 kilos ! . Plant them in builders rubble bags if want salad potatoes early or for Xmas - But I run 150 feet of allotment and grow potatoes to supply 3 families from July to April most years .
  • thanks old sam.
they do come with planting bags they sell them separately at £9.99 for three. so i was going to pay full whack so in that respect i've saved some £.

as a complete noob i hadn't really thought of alternatives, my mum in law kept going on about buckets, but i thought they would restrict the crop.

next year will be much cheaper as i won't have the outlay for plants etc.

i saw some strawbs on there last night, i think it was 10 strawb plants for £6 of vouchers and that included delivery, so quite a good offer methinks.

I ordered the Begonia Apricot Shades and the Polianthes Tuberosas -both £4 in clubcard vouchers.

I would have just spent them instore so I was well pleased, will be more pleasant to look at and last longer than loo rolls or loaves of bread :rotfl:
