Moving Deposit Money from Ireland to UK

Am not 100% sure which section this should go into but as it's my house deposit I thought I'd start in this section.
I have savings in Ireland (in Euros obviously) that I need to transfer to the UK so that I can get on that all important property ladders - it's my 10% deposit.
What is the best way for me to do this?
Writing myself a Euro check isn't a good plan as the bank charges a lot to change this... Is there a standard way of doing this that I am not aware of?
Would the best thing be to buy a Sterling bank draft in Ireland?
Any and all comments welcome!! :j

For large amounts use a currency broker (not a bank, unless the bank is specifically providing currency broking services) and shop around for the best rate and fees which change on a daily (if not more frequent) basis.0

Ask your bank to wire the funds to your UK bank in Euros or Pounds. Depending on the size, you should be able to trade directly with the bank's forex traders who will give you a quote based on the spot rate with some pips added on for commission. Each bank is different, so check first with the sending bank and the receiving bank. If it is a small amount, then you will probably have to accept the tourist rate.FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0
