Thanks for the postal order suggestions. I went to the Post Office this afternoon to check that out and the fee is in fact 10% but capped at £10.
Worth paying that to keep my bank details away from them.

No, they have refused to provide those details. They say the £100 is voluntary but needs to be paid by "every sane and fair minded person", otherwise those who refuse will be last to be considered when the prperty's sold.
legally speaking, only cash is legal tender, if they are refusing cash then you could legally take them to court since they are stating that they aren't accepting cash but also will consider non-payers unfavourably and won't give you resonable means of payment that doesn't compromise your security.
tell them to issue you a Giro or you'll see them in court0
