People not paying.

Hi folks,
I have several buyers who have bought items on Sunday 21st, and not yet paid (or responded to a polite email asking them to pay or at least let me know what is happening if there end).
I know most of them have been on ebay as they have been leaving feedback for other transactions! If they are not planning to pay, or have some problem why are they not in touch ? A couple of them even have feedback to state they are very fast payers! One is a 0 feedback too, so don't want to give them a strike against name unless really dodgy!
Is this normal ?
I know I can open an 'unpaid item' case as soon as 4 days after non-payment but this seems quite soon imho ?
Any advice folks ?
Thanks

This happens quite often. My response is usually selfish. If it is a multiple listing I give them a week. If it's a one off item and I know it is popular, I stick an unpaid item complaint in asap.
What some buyers forget is that if they don't want it, someone who does can't get it in this scenario.0 -
So for sales ending Sunday 21st, filing an unpaid by Sunday 28th would not be considered un-duly harsh? One person who won on Mon has messaged to apologise and advise payment tomorrow- that is fine, I just want to know whats happening! This happens quite often. My response is usually selfish. TBH my fear is a cheque arriving-I don't take those as our bank only open 3 days (not even 3 full days) and it is not worth the faff!

Dad now opens NPB thingy when he can, I think after 4 days, escalates it ASAP and closes it 4 days later.
Sounds harsh but he's found if they don't pay then they're probably never going to.0 -
I always leave a week before I do the NPB, but send them a gentle reminder after a few days, I find buyers tend to take longer to pay at this time of the month, think they're waiting for payday!!0

I have this feeling none of them are planning to pay but seeing as reminder emails sent today will wait until Sun (1 week) and if no money then unpaid item will be filed.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I think a week is enough. I ususally do it after 10 days. Many people get paid on the last working day of the month or on a date like the 27th for example.[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0

Update- filed two unpaid on the two from Sun- they have clearly been on ebay and have been leaving feedback at the very least!
Lets see the neg feedback come from them now lol (if they do decide to pay that is)!
I know it is early but they are taking the biscuit really!
ETA 1 had paid

So why don't buyers email seller and let them know that they won't have money until payday instead of expecting sellers to be mindreaders? I bought sofas off ebay but didn't get paid until 3 days after bididng ended - already emailed seller before I bid to let her know I would only bid if this was acceptable - she was fine about it. At 4am on day I got paid, I paid via paypal (her choice as I thought she would have preferred cash on collection) then collected sofas only hours later - it's not rocket science, it's common courtesy:j:T Total Prize Value 2012 - £1835 :T:j

bezzza I agree, but I suppose it is a buyers market these days ?So why don't buyers email seller and let them know that they won't have money until payday instead of expecting sellers to be mindreaders? For the record I am understanding if there is an explanation/apology etc, perhaps they have been genuinely busy or whatever. It is just I have one who has been on leaving feedback (and receiving it, although that may be for an earlier transaction of course), yet ignores my invoice/polite request to pay!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I once had a girl who told me that her husband had been killed and she would definately pay me later, so I took pity on her and posted it without payment....yes you have guessed, she never did pay, but she posted other stuff on feedback and then stopped trading as that name. I was the sucker!0
