Beware of Tunetribe

Please also read update below.

Yesterday morning I attempted to purchase an album online using Tunetribe. I accessed Tunetribe through the Tune Checker site associated with MoneySavingExpert.com. The process went through as expected and I checked out paying with Paypal. After the payment was processed, I was returned to an error screen. After returning to Tunetribe, the album I was trying to purchase was still in 'my basket' and I was asked to check out again. Checking with Paypal, I discovered that payment had definitely been taken by Tunetribe. My purchase history with Tunetribe shows no purchase and it shows no credit to me.
Realising that an error had occurred, I have been trying to contact Tunetribe with absolutely no success for over 24 hours. Whilst Tunetribe may well be an honest and upright company, I am warning that any attempt to contact the company in the event of a problem is difficult. Will post more as this develops.

An update. Tunetribe have replied to my complaint and dealt with it in an appropriate way. They have also compensated me for my trouble. There has apparently been some technical issues with the site which have been resolved. Whilst it is unfortunate that they take so long (they say 72 hours) to respond to customer problems, I am now happy that they are a reputable and honest company to deal with.
  • I have a similar problem. Downloaded now 76 and got an error on Paypal. Paid on credit card and now have 2 charges. E mailed twice still waiting for reply after a week. They may be cheap but obviously have no idea of customer service.
