cheque clearance

Hi guys

My brother paid a cheque into my account using a deposit machine in branch on monday and it says the cheque should be cleared by 25/3 whcih is today. However the money is still pending in my account.

balance £122.04
available £5.04

is there a certain time it should clear today?

    I'm guessing that this may be Halifax? As they are one of a small number of banks who have deposit machines in branch.

    If this is the case, then it will show as available from 9.00am.
