BACS Payments

Could anyone tell me how long a BACS payment usually takes to go through.
My employers messed my wages up this month because no-one recorded the fact that I had returned to work after sickness. This resulted in me not getting paid at all. I contacted Payroll on Tuesday (23rd) and they advised that they would issue an advance payment. I checked my account this morning but nothing has gone through as yet. I bank with the Halifax.
It's not very helpful when I checked my account Tuesday I was overdrawn (I have small agreed overdraft) as I set everything to go out on the sameday as I get paid. My parents have lent me some cash just so the account was in credit, I'm trying to survive on £10 this week but have another bunch of important bills to pay out next week. I'm already on a debt payment program and haven't been overdrawn in the 6 years since I started it I certainly don't want to default on these payments.

If the payment was initiated early enough in the day on Tuesday 23rd then it should have credited your account on Thursday 25th. If it was done late in the day then it may not reach your account until tomorrow.3 stone down, 3 more to go0
