Help please with Epson Printer

Hi

I've just bought an Epson SX415 and thought I had nothing better to do than plug it in and print from laptop.

I've tried to install disc provided on two laptops and it takes over an hour to install software and drivers.

When it comes to connect printer to laptop via USB cable, it searches and then tells me it cannot find printer.

I've tried a couple of usb cables and still get same outcome. All the reviews seem to indicate that it's easy to install. Any previous printer has been easy.

Can anybody suggest what I might be doing wrong, please?

Taking that long from the install disc suggests that you have a dodgy discwith lots of read/io errors. Try downloading the drivers from the epson site or copy the disc to your hard drive and try from there, if it takes more than a couple of minutes to copy it points to a duff disc.

I remember when i installed my epson printers , when it says looking for a printer just press cancel and it will finish the instalation.

Just follow the instructions and make sure the printer is UNPLUGGED before you install the drivers.

Thanks for your replies. Lost patience with it last night. Uninstalled everything on both Laptops. Tried again tonight and it worked. Printer now recognised on both machines - printing can resume again.
