lawn seeds or turf?
I am having my garden totally straightened out as I have recently moved in. It was badly neglected for what I think was probably decades and I am already over budget despite hunting down the cheapest deals for materials. It's really heavy work too and the labour budget has eaten a lot of the funds.
So.....Now I'm trying to jig things around about and see where I can save money elsewhere in the project. I need to get it finished asap because I need to start planting and was hoping I would have been able to get a good amount of it done by now.
The turf idea has to go I think as it will save a lot of money and help keep the spend under control. The only thing I am worried about is how long do seeds take to grow and what is the success rate like?
If I follow the instructions to the letter how long should it take for a half decent lawn to 'appear'?
I would hope it would be decent enough to enjoy this summer, it's my daughter's first garden and I really want her to be able to benefit from having the garden once the weather improves.
Can anyone tell me how long it would take roughly?
And any advice or tips on what I could do to help it along would be great-I am so rubbish in the garden, I know absolutely nothing about anything but I'm willing to learn!

There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.

Seeds germinate in a couple of weeks , you will be lying on the grass in a couple of months. You will certainly be mowing a lot this year.
