Home Insurance through Quidco for someone else

My elderly aunt has always been with the same insurer for her house insurance but she has asked if there is any way I can get it cheaper. I have had a look online and can drastically reduce it. We always go through Quidco for our own insurance. What I don't know is can I take out insurance in my aunt's name through my Quidco account, have the cashback paid into my Quidco account and then just give my aunt the cash. I would pay for her insurance on my card and she would give me the cash as she does not have a bank account or internet access which is why I am trying to help.

I've done it for my wife's car insurance and been paid out for the last 3 years so I don't see why it wouldn't work. I am amazed that anyone these days can manage without a bank account!0

Quidco rules are you can only use your account for your own transactions. You will have a problem if you need to query any non payment of the cashback.
The cashback on insurance is worth having, so why not set her up with an account - not worth a fiver to end up losing the money because you broke the rules.0 -
I'd also think about what you'd do if Quidco/Insurance Co. don't pay out. Would you take 'the hit' or would your Aunt?0

Quentin, I understand that, but if OP is paying on their cc for their aunt's insurance as a 'present' maybe it could be classed as their own transactions perhaps?0 -
Don't think it's worth the risk. Quidco conditions say:A Member's Account must be used only for purchases on his/her own behalf, and not on the behalf of, or for the benefit of, any other person(s);0

Thanks to all. I had thought about setting up an account for her but I would still pay on my card. Do you think that would be OK even though the insurance is set up in her name?
She is nearly 80 and only has her pension which she withdraws from the Post Office. She has no desire for a bank account - as she says I have managed all this time without, why would I want one now?0 -
They couldn't argue that wasn't in the rules!
If the insurer is also offering cashback via topcashback, why not use them, as they don't have any fiver charge to protect, so won't be worried who the transaction benefits!0 -
Will have a look at topcashback later. Have only used Quidco before for myself. There are quite a few insurers all coming out around the same price for my aunt so hopefully, one of them will be on topcashback.0

to get round quidco, set up her own quidco account, even set up an email address for her if you have to (all managed by yourselves)
paying on your credit card is non of quidco's business
it'd be like my mum and dad paying for my insurance on a credit card when i was 16, it was only to offer the CC protection and for ease0 -
What happens if I set my aunt up with her own Quidco/topcashback account. Does the cashback have to be paid into an account in her name? Could be a problem as she doesn't have a bank account0
