Question about AirSure/International Signed for

I sent a CD to Brazil via International Signed for, my buyer said it didnt get there, hes bought from me before, so I believed him and sent out another copy of the CD (I was a collector and had kept one to trade)
I was told at the PO that AirSure was better as you can track it all the way, so even though it cost more, I thought it would be better.
Ive just gone onto the tracking page and got this message:
But this is the same message I got using the usual Signed-for. Does anyone know if there is actually a difference between signed for and airsure?
I really wanted to be able to have 'proof' of delivery and was told at the PO that Id get electronic confirmation of this. The CD was £40 and I cant afford to refund if he says he doesnt get it again.

Your item, posted on 19/03/10 with reference LY*********GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery.

Yep - I know and the Royal Mail website is very clear on this service.
Recorded is only tracked within the UK. Airsure at five points along the way, two in the country of delivery.0 -
You will get delivery confirmation eventually, it can take quite a few days to show. You may be able to track it on the Brazil postal service website too0

There are a couple of websites you can try for tracing the item:
http://www.track-trace.com/
Use Post/EMS(with USPS), you can then select which postal authority, I think
Alternatively you can try:
http://www.postoffice.com/
which will link you to each country's postal site (note that not every country is listed)0 -
Thanks everyone, youve put my mind at rest0
