how do I format a sony pro duo magicgate memory stick on pc?

I downloaded a formatter from the sony website, followed instructions and it said the format was successful, but the pc is still asking me to format. Its brand new, can anyone help

put the memory car in what ever you use to read the card, open my computer and find he removeable drive right click it and click format and click start or whatever the option is.

It coud be a faulty card if your unable to format it what are you using the card in? PSP, camera? both devices will have a format option in them to format the card maybe try those?

Hopfully your not in posession of one of the many fake 2GB memory sticks that are sold on ebay. if it doesnt format then it must be faulty so return it to where you bought it.

thanks for advice, I formatted it in my camera, (don't have a psp) but it still came up not formatted on the pc.

I telephoned sony and they are picking it up, the telephone operator got me to try downloading my photos through my usb lead and it worked fine that way.

it was from ebay btw - good guess!
