Hotmail Virus????

Something weird in my Hotmail. Every now & then it is sending out spoof emails - sometimes to all my contacts, sometimes just to some. I just logged in & it said my Holiday notification was on - the email was a spoof one, but this wasn't there before when the other emails were sent. At least I assume so as I haven't been notified it was on before.
I have a new laptop (this was happening before). McAfee was on it & picked up nothing, have now got AVG, done a scandisk & nothing.
It is only affecting one of my Hotmail accounts, although I have 5 linked.

Thanks in advance :o

Change your password on that account, it could be someone's hacked it

Also check your computer for spyware, they must have got your password from somewhere, most likely a keylogger on your system.

This happened to me once a few years ago. Spam was sent to all my contacts and I also lost my contacts list. I contacted hotmail and they said to change the password - make it a mixture of letters (small & capital) and numbers and something not easy to guess. They also said to make sure you always log out of your hotmail account. I must admit I had always just left mine open before.

I had two hotmail accounts, but this only happened on my main one, the one I use most often. The other account doesn't even get any spam.

Nowadays, I quickly check my email and make sure I always log out. Thankfully, it's been ok.
