Tesco Home delivery charged me twice - have to wait for refund

Hi, I did a shop with Tescos on Sunday to be delivered Tuesday on this week. On Tuesday I was checking my online banking with my paper tally and I could not make out where my money had gone. At this point onwards I have been unable to use my account to buy anything because it is £85 down.
I checked with my bank and they said that Tesco had put my shopping through twice and that one payment may reject but if not I would have to chase them to pay it back. Tesco blamed everything on my bank and tried to deny that they had a second payment had been 'reserved'. Of course this was all rubbish but I have now been told that if the second payment does go through I will have to wait days + to have it refunded. I have a week until pay day and I wont be able to use my account until these idiots give me back my money................ I have three small children what on earth do I do??
I certainly wont be shopping online with them again

I had a similar situation with next, i was advised to speak to the back room at the bank, prob via head office and state your case.
The bank should be able to see via the transaction number what has happened.
Or you can ask tescos h/o to fax your bank stating they only have 1 transaction of £85 due from your acct.
Either of those methods can get the monies back and released into your acct the same day.
Good luck

I only use Sainsburys for home shopping as i have never had issues with them so stick to where i know i am ok.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
Complain in writing, ask both bank and Tesco to give you answer in writing. If its a visa reverse the payments, or claw back the payments, not onlt will they credit ur account with the one dodgy paymeny, they will take all payments back..SIMPLES!0

It should recredit, it is were they have made a mistake in ringing through the transaction mostly suspending it or cancelling it half way through therefore the money is removed from your bank, it will go back and if you ask they will refund any bank charges loss of interest if needs be.0
