Floating Alcove Shelves

I'm looking for some floating shelved to fit in our alcoves either side of our fireplace and wanted the floating type.

Because of the support on 3 sides they can hold consideable weight.
Anyone know of a cheaper supplier of these?? Can't really afford £34 / metre !!!

IKEA do them and they are cheaper than this (Can't remember price though) and come in several colours/wood veneers.

These look interesting though. The Ikea ones are the wrong size for my alcoves so I may save this link for when I am a little less strapped for cash than right now.....

Edit: Ouch! £34 is for unpainted MDF... others really expensive!!!!

Yeah, I have an Ikea one in our bathroom..Useless for anything other than a few Lbs of weight, plus they're the wrong width for my alcoves too !

Seems like the same design as Ikea.....Only fixings at the back of the shelf.

Maybe find a local carpenter in the Yellow Pages then if you want bespoke shelves?
