I select to download a program off Iplayer. It will only play in windows media player. nothing else and when I add it to a dvd it doesnt play or recognise the file. my dvd plays divx, avis, mpgs so shouldnt be a problem normally.

I want to watch the programme on the TV rather than on my pc screen.

any ideas?

    That's the idea.....
Those downloaded files have DRM protection to prevent you copying them to a disc.
They are only meant to be played on a PC using Windows Media Player.

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On 11 January 2010, the BBC announced that BBC iPlayer will be built directly into TVs that will be widely available in the UK within months Samsung Electronics became the first major manufacturer to officially announce that its televisions will be updated to include full access to the iPlayer through their Internet@TV service.

It's not too difficult to connect a computer to a TV, what connectors does your TV have?

Otherwise there are various ways to get iPlayer through different equipment, e.g. Nintendo Wii (although the quality is noticeably lower on this than streaming from PC, I found).

As pointed out, DRM will prevent you copying the files onto disk. There may be ways around this, but they're potentially unlawful and can't be discussed on these forums.
