HP C3100 print cartridge cradle cannot move

Mate of mine has the HP C3100, apparently has tried to replace the ink cartridge.

And is now getting "print cartridge cradle cannot move" error.

Talked it through with him on phone and he cant see any blockage?

Anyone have any ideas or is it a new printer job?

Complete guess as my C5180 has had no issues,

Try removing all the ink cartridges out and the paper, and unplug the machine for a good 30-60 minutes (reboot) if that doesn't help, maybe the cradle is jammed so you could try giving it a gentle nudge to see if it loosens up?

Otherwise i would go with something small has broken or there is a sensor error, either way would be a new printer me thinks.

I am leaning to a new printer - don't want to go around to his place to find out :-)

He wants to print 400 pages :mad: - train spotter!

I mean honestly why does he want to look at printouts of numbers :rotfl:.

Any recommendations for a new printer?. He wants black and white and colour printing.

I have a J5780 myself but am not sure its going to be fast enough if printing that volume of paper.

If I have to recommend a new printer, needs to be cheap and cheap on cartridges too I think.

If he doesn't care about quality (not after photo printer, or an all in one (scan/copy etc)) I honestly say go for the cheapest you can get. For several years now low end printers are disposable where it is cheaper to buy a new printer than a new full set of ink.

400pages is alot of numbers by final year project is 40,000+ words and is 200 pages long.
