Error message: Anyone explain it to me simply please :)

Hi, hope i'm posting this in the correct area:) When I try to follow links given in some emails and open some programmes I am unable to do so and get the message "Error: Platform Version '1.9.0.7' is not compatible with
min version> = 1.9.0.16
max version< = 1.9.0.16

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Cat

    Give us a clue.

Whatever program is version 1.9.0.7 is the wrong version and you need to update the program.

    Edit:
Seems to be a Firefox problem. See http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?locale=tr&forumId=1&comments_parentId=294873 . This suggests XULrunner is to blame, try a new install of Firefox.

This likely to be something to do with Firefox and XUL Runner probably a naff firefox update.Try getting the latest update from Firefox ( Help > Check for updates).
If that doesn't work you could try taking the following steps which should sort it out.

    1. First of all back up your user data. You almost certainly will not need it but it is better to be safe. See Backing up your information
    2. Download the latest version of Firefox http://www.mozilla.com
    3. Uninstall Firefox, if you are using the Firefox 3 uninstaller do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations"
    4. Make sure that there are no files or folders left in the installation folder, default location C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    5. Re-install Firefox
