Fed up with eBay Buyers...

Why can't we go back to the time where people used to bid for proper amounts on things they wanted? Where people would bid in advance, to make sure they got the item? The time when people wouldn't wait until the last minute to "grab a bargin"!
The printer I sold is worth much more than £3.50! I honestly thought someone would bid up to £20, which is what its worth in my opinion (cost £120 new not long ago)...
I don't like how it's changed - people bidding to get bargins, rather than paying a fair price for things they want!:mad:

Hardly their fault.
Start at a price you are prepared to sell at next time.
For all you know the winning bidder could have bid £120, but no-one else bid against them. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

1) If you are so convinced it was worth £20, why did no one want it?
2) If you were not prepared to let it sell to £3.50 why did you not set a reserve price?
Answers:
1) It is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it! A number of factors will influence the final price you receive, i.e. The quality of the advert, time of listing ending, stupid t&c's, pick up only ect. The list is endless!
2) You took 'advantage' of the 99p free listing? and didn't want to pay for a reserved price.....
You views on what constitutes a 'fair price' may be very different from mine. What makes you think you are right?0 -
If people think it's worth more they'll still compete and prices will go up high! Plenty of things do. However if only 1 or 2 people want it and it isn't worth much to them, why would they bid more?
Obviously don't know what printer it is, but in our classifieds you can normally get a half decent colour inkjet for £10 or so.0 -

the lowest you can set a reserve for on ebay is £50, it would therefore be be helpful if ebay allowed this to be lowered they still get an extra fee!:hello:"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing it doesn't go in a fruit salad

I don't see why a reserve is necessary though, it is an expensive and un necessary tool.
Just start item at lowest price you are willing to take, that gives you lower fees and peace of mind.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. But then people would have to PAY A FEE to list their item - and we can't be having that can we?! "Cheapest is always best", and this is a moneysaving site after all.
Free listings are free for a reason. You get what you pay for.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
