Just applied online and got the we will let you know reply, does anyone know how long they take ?.

If you want to know the progress, I guess you can call them up.
You could have applied in branch, where you can get a decision immediately. If you are successful, you will get the account details straight away. If not, you will ge the Cash Card Account. The only difference is that the account doesn't come with an overdraft and chequebook, but it comes with a debit card though.0 -

Yes, that's right.
Also, when applying online, and unsuccessful, they will open a Cash Card Account too ( https://www.barclaysbankaccountapply.co.uk/index.html - second paragraph).
No matter what method you apply, you will still get an alternative account.0
