Bidnapper bid twice?

Has anyone else had a problem as i have used bidnapper loads before but i just bid on something for maximum bid £250 and start was only £200 but it shows me as bidding twice the same £250 amount and no one else bid and i won it for £250.
Surely i should have won for £200(even though there was a reserve). I have never noticed it do this before. Surely i should only be paying £200.

If start was £200 and there was a reserve then chances are the reserve was £250. Reserve wouldn't be the same as the start bid.Can I help?0

Yes, but wouldnt it have bid £200 and then said you won but reserve not met?0

Sounds like Bidnapper used its brain and when the initial bid of £200 was rejected (not meeting Reserve) it put in your Maximum Bid.
I've only used Auction Sniper, and then only occasionally, I'll have a look at Bidnapper's modus operandi
FROM BIDNAPPER'S FAQs:
In most cases your bid will be adjusted one bidding increment above the previous high bidder. Bidnapper uses the proxy system to bid just enough to make you the winner, up to your maximum bid. In reserve auctions, that may mean raising your bid more than one bid increment to meet the reserve.

You were prepared to pay £250, whats the problem ?0

Thanks veronarona I should have found that sorry.
It was one of those buys where you feel sick and think "£250 !!! what was i thinking? £200 was too much" .It was a bit of an impulse buy so £250 was a bit steep but its nice so i cant complain and i typed in £250.

I thought a snipe though would use your highest bid to allow you to win? If £200 made you the highest bidder but did not meet the reserve then you could not win the auction, so a second bid would have to go in to reach the reserve.
I really don't know how a snipe system works but I assume they make allowances for a reserve somehow as the software must recognise a no win?

Seems a bit odd, though, that it only made two bids.
Since it is not ebay's own automatic system I would have thought you would have seen a whole list of bids as the sniping program worked its way up, by the appropriate increments, from the starting bid to 'reserve met' bid.
Or maybe ebay do not show successive bids from the same bidder that are below the reserve price.0 -
Well, i learnt something new. I emailed seller to ask if she changed price towards the end of auction and explained what happened. She said her reserve was £250 so that must be why it bid my top bid £250 so that i won.
Oh well, ill call it an early anniversary present to myself(it is a georgeous garden table with lazy susan and posh chair set that was £1299 and it is brand new so it was a bargain really, im just spending money i dont really have . My OH loves it though which is good as he just usually says "what have you gone and bought now?!!!!)0
