I think all schools should have vegetable patches and encourage the children to get their parents to also grow some fruit/vegetables in their gardens.

Im pretty sure we won but its not officially announced yet, we were 200 in front with 20 mins left :D so thanks all, every vote truely counted

I agree and have myself just built a little vegetable box at my dads house for my son and his cousins to grow some food and hopefully eat it! our cress will be ready in a few day so a few egg & cress sandwhiches will be in order while we wait for the other things to grow :)
  • could always ask on www.channel4.com/landshare - hugh earnley winterbottom's (?) project, as seen on Rover Cottage show..

    - find/offer free use of any spare bits of land, for use by (local?) people to grow their own veg..

    Hope they won :)
I think it is definately a good thing to encourage them young to do this, my DD is only 4 and she is already sowing seeds with me.
I don`t think i knew what a seed was or did at 4.

we've been in grandads garden today, watered our vegetable patch and put some flowers in his pots. we'l be going back tomorrow to plant some more seeds, then we'l be lookin for worms no doubt :D
