Right, sort ofa follow on to my earlier post reguarding the DD from my HSBC account being mysteriously cancelled. Today i find that the ammount had been paid to 02, by Nationwide!!
I recently set up a single SO on my AL account and let Nationwide transfer this to get my £75 transfer bonus. I had a DD to pay O2 on the same AL account about a year ago but that was cancalled a long time ago and has since been transferred to HSBC. Today i learn that the DD has been strangly switched to Nationwideand and activated which has put me OD  I phoned them and had them cancell the DD but theres still the issue of fees. The lady told me to phone back on friday when any fees would be showing and they would discuss them then.
Im going to try everything to get them to waive any fees as i dont consider this my fault at all, OD fee is about £30 IIRC.
Thoughts, cheers

Nationwide would have requested that A+L supply them with a list of active DDs set up on your A+L account.
When that info was supplied to them Nationwide would then send an instruction to the originators to transfer the DD to Nationwide.
So the fault was with A+L in supplying details of the cancelled DD to Nationwide.0 -
Was the original DD actually cancelled, or just allowed to lapse when it was replaced with a new one on HSBC?
If it wasn't actually cancelled, then a possible sequence of events is:
O2 start using HSBC instead of A&L when advised of the HSBC account
It remains in A&L's system, unused. It's technically 'active' as it's not been cancelled, just not been used
Nationwide get a list from A&L that includes it
They tell O2 who switch to them0 -
thata what im wondering, when i set up my First direct account a while ago they transferred all my SO and DD's to first direct so i assumed it had been cancelled. I havent ever seen it in the alliance and leister details so assumed it had been cancelled. After i closed FD i then set it up manually with HSBC.
I have to say i was expecting NW to let me know what they had transferred rather than just a letter saying we have transferred any DD and SO's.
Im going to call them tomorrow and see if they will waive any charges, if not i gues ill just have to put it down to experience. My £75 bonus from NW will have been reduced to £450
