Washing Machine slow spin speed

Had a repacement motor fitted to our Siemens washing machine last week (£100!). After the guy left we noticed that it would not spin up to the 1400 rpm we were used to. The clothes are coming out a lot wetter than before.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Obviouisly, the spin speed depends on the programme that you are using.
If that is not the cause, it's probably a wiring-in problem. I believe the motors are the same across all models and it's just the tappings that affect the maximum spin speeds.
Get the 'engineer' back.
