canceling contents/mortgage insurance

Its been nearly a year since we got our mortgage and took mortgage protection and contents with the mortgage lender.
We have been given some good quotes from another company for both of the above insurances so is it easy to ditch the insurance that we have at the mo to be able to accept these new quotes ive had.

Your mortgage company might charge you up to £25 to change insurers but most new companies will pay this for you to get your business.
Who is your buildings insurance with or was it a typo?0 -
we have buildings insurance with our housing assosiation as its a brand new flat.
will they charge 25 quid on each of the insurances??0 -
No only the contents.
The protection insurances are nothing to do with the mortage.0
