Shower/bathroom extractor fan recommendations pls

Hi, need a bit of advice pls. Have just had a new bathroom fitted with showerbath and shower light/fan above, which is about as much use as a chocolate teapot! Need an alternative that works efficiently. Been researching and found fan calculators that state we will need extraction of around 76 litres per second. Looking at inline fans but unsure how these will look .... do you just have a ceiling hole with a grille over, as fan part is actually based in loft? Seen a couple of recommendations by Timbuckteeth, of Xpelair XID100 or vent axias. Can an inline fan, say XID100, be fitted above the shower, or would it have to be in another part of the bathroom? Grateful for any advice.

I ended up with this one....

It's much more efficient than the thing it replaced.
All you see is the grill part on your ceiling, the rest is in the loft. You can site the grill part anywhere but the usual place is above the shower area. Mine is centered above the bath.Herman - MP for all!

Thanks very much! Who'd have thought choosing an extractor fan could be so trying
As they are 4", did you just need to fix fan and use existing ducting? Is it very noisy? Just called TLC and have been told you can use it with shower light at ceiling and not just grille so that would be great. Thanks again! 0 -
I used the new ducting supplied in the kit from the ceiling grill part to the fan itself, then used the old existing ducting from the other side of the fan to the grill on the soffit outside just because it wasn't very easy to get to, to replace it. The new ducting was much better quality than my old stuff.
As for the noise, on paper it was one of the quietest I'd found. In reality, I can only compare it with my old fan and it's a lot quieter than that. It also has a lower sound, it's not a high pitched noise iyswim?
Noise is an issue for us and we find this one perfectly acceptable. It's obviously not silent, no fan is, but it's not overly intrusive either. It's hard to be helpful with regards to noise advice as it's very much a personal opinion type of thing.

Thanks for the info. We had a very old axial fan before so anything must sound better than that!0
