Landlord has debts on my flat

Hi,
I've been renting a flat from my landlord for over a year, and throughout this time I've been receiving a lot of mail for him. I leave these out in the lobby of my apartment block so that they get returned to sender (or at least that's what happened at my last flat).
The problem is I accidently opened one last weekend and it was a letter claiming that the landlord hasn't paid the service charge on the flat for quite some time, and after repeated attempts to get in touch they will start proceedings to settle the bill. They also said that this may involve the building owners cancelling the lease, meaning that the landlord would lose the flat and I wouldn't have a place to live.
I think that would be a last resort, but I'm just wondering what are my rights here? If debt collectors were to come round, are they entitled to take my stuff since it's on the landlord's property?
Thanks for any help.
