Help wanted re new desktop

Hi guys,
Just wondered whether you could have a look at this desktop I'm considering, and let me know what you think, or if you could offer any suggestions of a better spec / deal anywhere else?
As a new user I can't post links, but it can be found on ebuyer.com/product/183308
I don't need a monitor, and predominantly use my home PC to work remotely from the Office (they do provide me with a laptop for when I'm out travelling, but its fairly basic and can't plug it in to the printer, do any personal stuff etc)
Other than logging in remotely and doing a bit of work on Office myself, I have a lot of music on my existing desktop (which is now 5 years old and continually crashing) on itunes, skype my family overseas, do quite a bit of internet surfing, and would quite like to play the odd game on it from time to time (probably stuff such as Football Manager etc which won't run on my existing). I store my photos on a external hard drive which I think is usually another big taker of space.
Budget wise, I think I can stretch to £500 but no more really. Do you think this would do the job? It'd be great if this could last me another 5 years - I'm not great at IT so wouldn't really be wanting to add memory etc in the future.
Any help would be really appreciated as I'd quite like to get this sorted this week or over the weekend.
Thanks again,
JPC

Looks a bit uninspiring really from the specs. As a new user I can't post links, but it can be found on ebuyer.com/product/183308
Same model with larger hard drive (albeit without the dedicated graphics card) is available for £80 cheaper at http://www.ebuyer.com/product/186628 . The integrated graphics should be able to run basic games like Football Manager fine, but if you wanted a dedicated graphics card, you can buy a much better graphics card than the GT230 for much less than £80.
Alternatively same model with an extra 2gigs of RAM and a Blu-Ray drive for watching high-def discs is £10 cheaper here: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/172711poppy100 -
Thanks for this, might go for blu Ray one then.
Do you think the acer is generally a good bet then as you've gone for 2 variations rather than something else entirely?0 -
I went for those variations just because they were the same model that you've posted. To be honest the brand name for desktop computers is not really important at all - what's more important is what's in the computers, not who assembles them. It's different for laptops where build quality, size and weight are all big factors and some brands are better than others. Thanks for this, might go for blu Ray one then.

I have an Acer netbook and it's great, but I'd be perfectly happy buying a no-name desktop computer as long as it ticked all the specs that I wanted.poppy100
