Old credit card linked to Paypal

I've not bought anything from ebay in as long as I can remember, but this past month I have been buying a few things. I checked my online banking, nothing showing up on my credit card. I checked paypal, and it has an old credit card linked to my account. I recognise the last 4 digits, but they're not the ones on my card just now.
So all the things I've been buying over the last month have been going through, the things are getting delivered, but not actually costing me. I phoned the bank but the man I spoke to was useless and he said unless I can provide the full credit card number, he couldn't help. Paypal only shows the last 4 digits, the rest is xxxxxx out.
What do I do?

First off change the number to the correct number and the be prepared for someone to chase you up at some point.
Are you sure they aren't taking it out via bank transfer or debit card?0 -
No, nothing has come out my bank at all. I went onto the online banking expecting to pay about £200 over to my credit card. there was nothing on it. I checked the other accounts. That's when I went to paypal and checked the card number.0

The only thing you can be sure about is that PayPal will at some stage limit your account when they realise they have made a mistake and no doubt it will be at the worst time.
I would contact them again and explain (try and get it in writing) so you can at least show you have tried to sort it out.0 -
i had something similar happen to me. my current card had expired on paypal and i hadn't realised.
i was then worried that i hadn't paid for the item as the paypal records seemed to show attempts at payment and then failing - but the seller said they had their money and i had the item.
i thought perhaps there was a glitch and i had got the item for free. a month or two later i got a credit card bill for it on an m+s credit card i had but hadn't used in at least a year - i swear i had never linked that card with paypal! phoned paypal to resolve, but they were absolutely rubbish.
so, yes i would also think it will come back to you at some point.0 -
Yeah when the realise they are not getting any money, Paypal will contact you and limit your account and tell you that you owe such amount and must pay them. I cant remember the exact things they say but its kind of a threatening email.
This happened to me when I got a new card but forgot to change it on my paypal account, it still had the old number. It was only ebay seller fees I had to pay thought so that wasnt much.Comping again0 -
Thanks everyone!0

This happened to me once but not for a great amount, something like £20, about 2 months later my Paypal was in the red and I had to pay it up, the sellers had their money and I had the items but paypal had paid the sellers and left me -£20.0
